Akari was founded in response to a pattern I saw play out across dozens of buildings over almost a decade in this industry. It wasn't a lack of effort from building managers or committees; it was inconsistency.

A building would run smoothly under one manager, then lose momentum the moment that person moved on, was spread too thin across too many sites, or was a subcontracted role with no real accountability to the building itself.

Strata committees are often doing their best with limited time and limited visibility into what's actually happening on-site. They deserve a building manager who is genuinely present, genuinely accountable, and genuinely invested in the long-term health of their property, not just the next meeting or the next invoice.

Before founding Akari, I spent almost 10 years working in facilities, building, and operations management, overseeing day-to-day operations at approximately 30 residential and mixed-use sites throughout Sydney. That experience included everything from major capital works and compliance projects through to the everyday reality of what makes a building run well: clear communication, proactive maintenance, and a manager who actually knows the building.

I founded Akari to close the gap I kept seeing between what strata committees need and what they were often getting. That's why every member of our team is full-time, on payroll, and directly employed by us. No subcontracted staff, no agency turnover, no gaps in accountability. Just the same people, consistently, who know your building and take ownership of it.

Good building management isn't complicated, but it does require consistency, presence, and genuine care. That's what we set out to provide with Akari: Managing Today, Protecting Tomorrow.
